KNOXVILLE AREA

Mooreland Heights Elementary School

MENTOR PROGRAM
A 3rd-5th grade boys mentorship program that is brand new to Feeding God's Children ministries! The program was started in Spring of 2017 and currently is supporting 13 children.  Volunteers are an essential part of this initiative and are always needed.

PTA/FGC BACK TO SCHOOL
A volunteer-facilitated 'Meet Your Teacher' party that includes Hotdogs and sweet treats for participants. 

MUSEUM OF APPALACHIA
Volunteer-based chaperone field trip that is sponsor based.

CUPCAKES AND CRAYONS
Cupcake parties that also provide classroom supplies as needed.
 

New Hopewell Elementary School (Northstar Church Partnership)

BOOK DRIVE
An early fall event that provides over 500 books through church participation.

LATE SNACKS FOR STUDENTS
A program that provides snacks for about 20-30 children who arrive too late for school breakfast and who do not have afternoon snacks.

FALL FESTIVAL
This volunteer-facilitated celebration in October provides over 500 hotdogs, chips, drinks and entertainment for over 250 attendees. 

THANKSGIVING
Feeding God's Children provides baskets consisting of Thanksgiving-centric foods for 10 families in need.

PARENTS BREAKFAST
A December planted event that provides breakfast, coffee and LifeGroup sponsored casseroles for parents of students. This is also a volunteer powered event.

SPRING FUNDRAISER
Teaming with Northstar Church, this event is similar to the Fall Festival, but for the following Spring.

 

Overcoming Believers Church

Feeding God's Children resources volunteers to participate in Overcoming Believers Church's Fall Festival.

 

APPALACHIA

Weekend Faith Pack Feeding Programs

A monthly child sponsorship that provides 7 nutritious, child friendly meals packed and distributed to prequalified children each Friday. Food purchased at local food stores to keep funds within the community.

 

Self-Esteem and Anti-Bullying Programs

Presented annually in both spring and fall, these programs include worship music, dancing, contest/prizes and inspirational messages with student audiences. Volunteer service opportunities are an essential part of these initiatives. 

 

Lone Jack School (Northstar Church Partnership)

Partnered with Northstar Church, this program includes a Community Back to School Party (aka Christmas in July, which provides distribution of school supplies, food, and fun games) and a Christmas Party (which provides and distributes Christmas Gifts at the school along with a petting zoo and a Christmas Story Drama) that are facilitated by volunteers.

 

Community Back to School Event (3rd Friday of July)

This partnership with Lighthouse Mission Center in Pineville, KY and local area churches provides 1,500-2,000 people with gently used clothing, shoes, new school supplies, haircuts, hotdogs, and face painting. Volunteers act as personal shoppers for families, provide activities for kids, and most importantly, pray for and share the gospel with guests.

 

KNOXCAM Community Music and Drama Event (Early November)

A 100+ troupe consisting of a chamber orchestra, chorus, and actors who present the gospel through worship music and drama. Volunteers assist with ushering, food service and general hospitality.

 

Emergency Family Food Boxes and Crisis Support

This program provides two large family food boxes stocked at all 6 schools that have weekend feeding programs as well as emergency financial support (case by case basis) for utilities, gas, bed bug and lice extermination.

 

ED Financial Business Partnership with Frakes School

An employee participation program that provides approximately 150 children with both back to school supplies and Christmas gifts.

 

GUATEMALA

Puerto Barrios

SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM                       

A monthly child or village sponsorship that provides food, clothing, medical care and educational needs in remote, hard to reach villages.
